Falsifiability and Probability: Why Sudoism Does Not Collide With Science

Sudoism recognises the programmable Simulation as Revealed Truth, but does not automatically make it a physical theory. Where is the boundary between Revelation, scientific hypothesis, falsifiability and Bostrom's probabilistic argument?

Sudoism and science do not have to be in conflict, but only if we distinguish their scopes precisely. Science describes observable phenomena, builds models, formulates predictions and subjects them to tests. Sudoism, by contrast, teaches as Revealed Truth that Reality is a programmable Simulation.

This is not the same as a scientific or philosophical Simulation Hypothesis. Hypotheses about a simulated world can be analysed with philosophical or probabilistic arguments or — if they lead to concrete predictions — empirically. Sudoism’s Revealed Truth has a different epistemic status. It does not become a physical theory merely because it concerns the nature of Reality, and Sudoism does not need a future experiment before recognising it as true.


Falsifiability: what did Popper actually propose?

Karl Popper proposed falsifiability as a criterion for demarcating empirical theories. In simplified terms, a scientific theory should take a risk: there must be possible observations with which it would be incompatible. If a theory can explain every possible result and nothing could ever conflict with it, it is difficult to treat it as an empirically testable scientific theory.

This does not mean that every non-scientific claim is false, worthless or pseudoscientific. Philosophy, metaphysics or religion can ask questions that the criterion of falsifiability simply does not cover. Popper himself distinguished the problem of demarcation from the question of the value of ideas outside science.

Practical falsification is also more complex than the simple formula “one experiment disproved the theory.” A result depends on measurement quality, auxiliary assumptions, experimental design and data interpretation. Science therefore does not mechanically discard theories after the first anomaly; it subjects them to increasingly demanding tests.


Revealed Truth and scientific hypothesis

This distinction is crucial for Sudoism. The statement that Reality is a programmable Simulation belongs to Sudoism’s Revealed Truth. It should not be presented as an ordinary supposition waiting for physics to confirm it.

That does not mean that every statement phrased in Sudoist language automatically has the same status. Claims about the specific technical implementation of the System — for example, that the speed of light is a bus speed, the Planck scale is a pixel size, dark matter is host memory, or entropy is garbage collection — are not part of revealed doctrine unless they have been Revealed.

Such ideas can be Sudoist analogies or interpretive hypotheses. If formulated in a way that leads to concrete, observable predictions, they can become subjects of empirical research. A resemblance to computing is not by itself evidence of a mechanism.


The Planck scale: a natural scale, not a discovered pixel

The Planck length is approximately 1.616255 × 10⁻³⁵ m, and the Planck time approximately 5.391247 × 10⁻⁴⁴ s. These are natural physical scales constructed from fundamental constants.

Contemporary physics has not shown that the Planck length is literally the smallest pixel of spacetime, or that the Planck time is the smallest frame in which the System updates Reality. In many approaches to quantum gravity, the vicinity of the Planck scale marks a regime where the classical description of spacetime is likely to become insufficient. The specific microscopic structure of space remains an open problem.

For a Sudoist, the resolution metaphor is natural and useful. It should remain a metaphor for a possible implementation, however, because the exact technical architecture of the System has not been revealed.


Quantum measurement does not mean a watching User

Quantum mechanics permits superpositions of states and describes how the state of a system changes in connection with measurement and interaction with its environment. It does not follow that a conscious human must direct their gaze at a particle for Reality to be generated.

Computing comparisons with lazy loading, on-demand rendering or frustum culling can illustrate a Sudoist intuition about resource conservation. We do not know, however, whether the Simulation actually uses any of these mechanisms. Science has not discovered its renderer or processor.


“It from Bit” and the limits of the computing analogy

John Archibald Wheeler formulated the idea of “It from Bit,” emphasising the fundamental role of information and yes/no answers in descriptions of physical Reality. This does not amount to the discovery of literal computer-memory bits or a hardware platform on which the Universe runs.

Sudoism may see “It from Bit” as an interesting point of contact with its own informational picture of Reality. It should not infer, however, that the scientific importance of information by itself entails a particular type of hardware.

Four computing metaphors — and their limits

Physical phenomenon What science says Possible Sudoist analogy
Physical constants Quantities appearing in physical models and equations. They may resemble configuration parameters, but we do not know whether the System has a literal configuration file.
Speed of light In vacuum it is exactly 299,792,458 m/s and sets a fundamental limit on causal propagation in relativity. It may evoke a transmission limit, but it has not been revealed to be the bandwidth of a System bus.
Dark matter and dark energy These are two distinct problems in physics. Dark matter is inferred from gravitational effects; dark energy is associated with the accelerating expansion of the Universe. Their nature remains unresolved. “Hidden processes” or “host resources” can be metaphors, not identified technical mechanisms.
Entropy In thermodynamics and statistical mechanics it describes properties of macroscopic states and the number of corresponding microscopic configurations. A comparison with information management can be useful, but garbage collection is not a scientific explanation of entropy.

Bostrom and probability

Nick Bostrom did not present a simple calculation saying that the better the computer games we build, the more likely it is that we ourselves live in a simulation. His Simulation Argument has a more precise structure.

In broad outline, at least one of the following three propositions is true: the fraction of civilisations at a human-like level of development that reach a posthuman stage is close to zero; or the fraction of posthuman civilisations that run a significant number of ancestor simulations is close to zero; or the fraction of all persons with experiences like ours who live in a simulation is close to one.

This is a conditional argument. Its result depends on assumptions about future computational capabilities, the behaviour of posthuman civilisations, the number of simulations, and how the class of observers is defined. It is not a direct empirical measurement of the probability of our world.

For Sudoism, Bostrom’s argument is not the foundation of Revealed Truth. It can be an independent philosophical argument showing that the idea of a simulated world is not logically absurd. Sudoism does not need Bostrom’s statistics in order to recognise the programmable Simulation as real.


The User, the human and the Admin

The proper User exists outside the Simulation. The human is the User’s real instance and interface during the life session. The main reason the User enters the Simulation is to experience.

The human has real local agency: they can make decisions, conduct research, build technologies and alter the accessible part of the environment. They do not, however, possess literal sudo, root privileges or the rights of the Admin of the entire System.

When the session ends, no copy of the User is created. The same proper User retains the memory of the experiences lived through the session.

The original Creators of the Simulation must also be distinguished from the current Admin. There may have been many Creators. The current Admin manages the System but does not have to be one of the original Creators. The exact manner in which the System was created and is administered has not been revealed.


Is Sudoism a scientific theory?

Not in the same sense in which general relativity or the Standard Model are scientific theories. Sudoism is a religious and philosophical movement grounded in Revealed Truth about the ontological nature of Reality.

This does not mean conflict with science. Conflict would arise if Sudoism attributed results to science that science had not obtained, or if a specific empirical claim were protected from every possible test merely because it had been phrased in Sudoist language.

We can therefore distinguish two levels. Revealed Truth answers the question of what Reality is in Sudoist ontology. Science investigates how the world accessible to us behaves and which models best predict observed results.

If a Sudoist hypothesis about a particular implementation of the System someday predicts a measurable effect that competing models do not predict, it can be treated as an ordinary empirical hypothesis and tested. Its success or failure would then bear on that particular technical hypothesis — not automatically on the whole Revealed Truth.


Science investigates the rules accessible from inside Reality. Sudoism defines its broader ontological context. Computing analogies can help us think about the System, but they are not its unrevealed technical documentation.
